On Sunny Slope Farm Wedding in Harrisonburg, VA | The McNair’s

Bride & Groom's first kiss at, Sunny Slope Farm

September 2024 | Harrisonburg, Virginia

Rain fell softly over the Shenandoah Valley the morning of the McNair’s On Sunny Slope Farm wedding, but it only made the day more intimate. Quiet laughter in the bridal cabin. A first look with parents framed by white daisies. A celebration that felt grounded in family, faith, and joy.

This Harrisonburg countryside wedding had everything I love as a wedding videographer—real emotion, wild dance-floor energy, and moments that felt like they belonged in a film.

A Rainy Beginning at On Sunny Slope Farm

Gray skies hung low over Harrisonburg, but the McNair’s leaned into it. Umbrellas, laughter, and that electric anticipation that always lives in the hours before a ceremony.

Their first look with parents outside the cabin was one of those moments you can’t plan—tears, hugs, and quiet smiles while rain dotted the garden path. The rolling hills of On Sunny Slope Farm blurred into soft greens behind them, like a watercolor painted just for their day.

Why I Love On Sunny Slope Farm Weddings

As a wedding photographer and videographer working across Virginia, I’ve seen a lot of venues—but On Sunny Slope Farm weddings have a rhythm of their own.

The hillside views, flower gardens, and open countryside give you space to breathe. You can host a tented ceremony, an intimate garden moment, or a full-blown dance-floor party without losing that quiet Shenandoah charm.

It’s the kind of venue where a rainy morning still feels warm.

The Ceremony Under the White Tent

Family and friends gathered beneath a bright white tent while rain tapped softly above them. Two tall arrangements of white carnations framed the aisle. The McNair’s exchanged vows while mist drifted across the valley.

When they walked back down the aisle, confetti cannons burst overhead, sending white paper into the gray sky like a celebration breaking through the clouds.

Those are the moments video lives for.

It’s the kind of venue where a rainy morning still feels warm.

Cocktail Hour with Personality

Inside the bridal cabin, the groomsmen leaned into classic GQ energy—sharp suits, moody cigar portraits, and a little swagger.

Outside, champagne sprayed into the air while guests laughed and dodged bubbles in their heels. The mix of elegance and chaos made the perfect storytelling contrast.

Real wedding films aren’t about perfection. They’re about personality.

Those are the moments video lives for.

A Reception to Remember

The reception kicked off with the most creative entrance I’ve ever seen—Thor’s hammer props testing the strength of every guest on the dance floor.

No one could lift it.

Until the McNair’s walked in together and raised it effortlessly.

From there, the party never slowed. Crowd surfing. Wild cheers. A packed dance floor that pulsed with energy all night long.

An On Sunny Slope Farm wedding knows how to throw a celebration.

Ending the Night in Sparkler Light

Late in the evening, the music softened and the couple shared a private last dance under glowing tent lights.

Then came the sparkler tunnel—friends lining the path, laughter echoing through the dark countryside. The McNair’s ran through the light hand-in-hand, closing the night with joy written across their faces.

Those final frames always feel like the last scene of a movie.
