Front Royal, VA has a lot of great restaurants. I would consider all of these hidden gems. There are some amazing hole-in-the-wall spots that you just have to see and taste to believe. It’s not just BBQ and American cuisine out here in the Shenandoah, there is even a banger Thai Food joint inside of a hotel… you’d be surprised at how good it is. Listed below are the absolute best places to eat around Front Royal, VA

Offering “Appalachian Cuisine”, Vault & Cellar is a cozy eatery located in the historic downtown district of Middletown, Virginia. The restaurant is housed in a restored 19th-century building that was once a bank, hence its name “Vault & Cellar”. The building still features its original bank vault, which is now repurposed as a wine cellar. Everything I’ve ever eaten here has been amazing! The Bread Pudding is to die for! And I never knew how good Pickled Ice Cream was until they enlightened me.
They are now one of the most renowned Bourbon bars in the country, offering a massive selection of whiskey and bourbon.

The hidden gem of Front Royal. Blue Wing Frog has the best shrimp in town.. Probably the best shrimp I’ve ever had, actually. With their eclectic menu of American cuisine, and unique interior, it will surprise you and exceed your expectations. This is my favorite restaurant in Front Royal.

They also do live music on Thursday nights.

Need I say more?!

Element is an upscale restaurant featuring American cuisine. It’s right on Main Street in Downtown Front Royal, which is a super cute area filled with little shops and lots of wall murals.

Everything here is really good, but my personal favorites are the General Tso’s Cauliflower, and the Bistro Beef Tenders. Just thinking about it makes me feel like an image of Homer Simpson, drooling.

The cutest little coffee shop downtown that is family owned and operated. They are open all day and feature a variety of food options. My favorite is the rueben, with a specialty coffee. This is a great spot to grab a coffee and a snack and chit chat with friends.

This is one of the nicer restaurants in Front Royal. Serving Italian Cuisine and Neapolitan Pizza, there’s not another place like it in town. It’s a cute little place, and perfect for a date night or a nice family dinner.

Dare I call this place a legend?
